Multiple Agencies Descend On Siskiyou County To Raid Illegal Marijuana Operations

A variety of state and local law enforcement agencies raided illegal marijuana gardens in Siskiyou County last week. On Monday and Tuesday 10 separate agencies raided the sites across the county. 64 search warrants were served and a variety of illegal plants, processed marijuana products, concentrated cannabis, weapons, and currency were seized. A number of serious environmental crimes were investigated and documented for criminal and civil penalties. 8,754 plant were seized, and 963 pounds of processed pot was confiscated. The sheriff’s office is reporting that the value of the plants was between 78 Million and 105 Million Dollars depending on the market where the marijuana was destined for. The processed buds were worth between 2.9 Million and and 3.8 Million Dollars, according to figures provided by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office. The raids also netted 8 Grams of Meth and a Butane Honey Oil lab was dismantled. 29 people were contacted during the two day operation and 1 felony and 3 misdemeanor arrests were made. Two citations were issued and two dogs were taken into protective custody. 66 possible environmental violations were also investigated.
