With temperatures expected to be around 110 degrees over the next several days, a public cooling will be open in the City of Shasta Lake. The cooling center will be setup and the John Beaudet Community Center on Median Street Tuesday and Wednesday from Noon until 8PM. There is a lack of public air conditioned building in the city so Shasta County Public Health will open the cooling center. Those who do not have access to air conditioning at home are urged to visit the community center for relief. People who don’t live in Shasta Lake can find one of the many air conditioned public places at shastahhsa.net.
