Man Killed In Single Vehicle Crash In Northern Tehama County

A 30-year-old man was killed in a single vehicle crash Monday morning, according to the CHP. The crash was reported about 6:30AM on Basler Road east of Little Doe Lane. The CJHP says the unidentified man was driving a 2005 Saturn Vue eastbound on Basler Road when he allowed the vehicle to drift off the roadway while negotiating a curve. The right side of the vehicle struck an Oak Tree, which penetrated into the passenger compartment all the way into the driver’s seat, according to the CHP. The driver was killed and had to be extricated by fire personnel. The chp says that alcohol may have been a factor.
