Carr Fire as of Monday Morning

The Carr Fire covers more than 163,200 acres. Crews have achieved 45% containment in a hard-fought effort on extremely difficult terrain. 1,080 homes have been destroyed, along with 24 commercial structures and 500 other buildings. 190 homes and 26 commercial structures have been damaged. The number of threatened structures is now down to 1229. The battle against the Carr Fire is being waged by firefighters from 17 states plus Australia and New Zealand. There are also military and civilian aircraft augmenting the state and federal aircraft, and handcrews manned by the National Guard and regular Army soldiers. The cost for firefighting could top 100 million dollars.
