A wildfire in the Modoc National Forest is burning with a rapid rate of spread. The Stone Fire has grown to over 1500 acres west of Yellowjacket Spring and south of County Road 84. It’s burning in heavy fuel with active tree crown torching and spot fires. The Cottonwood Campground and other areas off of County Road 84 at Canby Bridge are closed.
