Fire Victims Can Apply For Emergency Food Starting Wednesday

CalFresh will be providing one month of free food benefits for those impacted by the Carr Fire. Shasta County Health and Human Services says that a family of 4 with a monthly income up to $2,755 may be eligible for up to $640 in food assistance through California’s Disaster CalFresh Program. Households can only apply between Wednesday August 22nd and Saturday August 25th. A 2nd application period will be held from Monday August 27th through Wednesday August 29th. Victims of the fire may apply for the emergency benefits in person at the Health and Human Services Office at 2460 Breslauer Way or at the Downtown Office at 1220 Sacramento Street.
