Supervisors OK Deal With Shasta Regional For Mental Health Treatment

There’s good news for local people with mental health issues. At Tuesday’s meeting, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an agreement with Shasta Regional Medical Center to provide 72 hour treatment and evaluation, 14 day intensive treatment and 30 day intensive treatment, as appropriate. In addition, a 3 year, 7.5 Million Dollar agreement to provide inpatient psychiatric hospitalization services for both voluntary and involuntary placements was approved. Because SRMC is a full service hospital, medical needs for mental health patients can be addressed at the same time.
