Siskiyou Sheriff Continues Aggressive Raids Of Marijuana Gardens

As much of the state has lightened up on cannabis enforcement, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office has been as aggressive as ever against cultivation on private property. The marijuana team has been joined by other agencies from the state and from Trinity, Yuba and Calaveras Counties. On September 6th, a dozen sites were raided as arund 1200 plants and 46 pounds of processed bud were seized. Around 3 dozen search warrants have been served by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office in the last couple of months, resulting in the seizure of more than 8,000 plants and nearly a half ton of processed bud. One two-day operation in July involved 80 personnel from 10 agencies. 64 search warrants were served in the Klamath River Estates and Mount Shasta Vista, leading to the seizure of 8,800 plants and almost a thousand pounds of processed bud. Sheriff Jon Lopey says there has been a significant decrease in cultivation compared to last year.
