Deadline To Register To Vote Is October 22nd

The General Election is just over a month away, and there’s still time to register to vote. The deadline is Monday October 22nd, and it can even be done online at registertovote.ca.gov. Voter guides and vote-by-mail ballots will be sent out starting next Tuesday and they can be returned to the clerk’s office immediately. The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is October 30th. Anyone who wishes to vote early may do so at the county clerk’s office starting on Monday. Ballots must arrive at the elections department by 8 O’clock on November 6th to be counted. There are ballot drop boxes at the city halls in Redding and Anderson, and at the Shasta Lake Community Center. Ballot drop boxes are also located in Holiday Market and Sav-Mor Stores, or they can be dropped off at any polling place in the county on election day. A lot of information about the election can be found at elections.co.shasta.ca.us. The Shasta County Elections Department is at Placer and Market in the south end of the Market Street Promenade.
