The motorcyclist killed in an accident Wednesday on Highway 299 has been identified as 30-year-old Ulysses Allen Jones of Redding. A Toyota van driven by an 81-year-old man from Redding was traveling westbound and was attempting to make a left turn onto Lower Springs Road. Jones was traveling eastbound on the highway on a Kawasaki motorcycle, and was unable to avoid striking the mini van.
