The identity of the driver killed in a head on crash near the Shasta-Lassen County Line on Friday has been released. The Susanville CHP Office is reporting that 78-year-old Ramond Carey from Sutherlin,Oregon was killed. The Camry he was driving westbound on Highway 44 east of Butte Lake Road drifted across the centerline and struck a Freightliner big rig driven by Francisco Garcia. Carey’s passenger, Betty Carey suffered major injuries. The semi driver was treated for minor injuries.
