A Redding Police dog captured a suspected burglar at an East Redding church early Tuesday morning. At 1:35AM officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Neighborhood Church on Loma Vista Drive. The alarm company sent a video of the suspect wearing a mask. Arriving officers searched the large church campus and quickly found their suspect. He saw them too and ran, but Otto the K9 was much faster. He ran after the man and took him down, holding him for the pursuing officers. 22-year-old Tyler Edward Coonan allegedly had removed a hinge from a large gate and broke into a trailer and a storage shed. After being treated at a hospital for his dog bites, Coonan was booked into jail.
