A young woman from Eastern Shasta County died in a rollover crash Monday afternoon. At 5:35PM, there were three women and three children in a 2004 Nissan Armada traveling westbound on Highway 299 between Fall River Mills and Burney. West of Pit Number One Power House Road, the driver, 21-year-old Elida Tooley, allowed the big SUV to drift off the pavement and it rolled over several times. Tooley and one of the juveniles suffered major injuries and were taken by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Three other passengers were treated at Mayers Hospital. A 20-year-old woman from Fall River Mills who was not wearing her seatbelt was ejected as the vehicle rolled and she suffered fatal injuries. The CHP says alcohol is not suspected.
