Man Sentenced For Making Death Threats

A Tehama County man is going to prison for threatening to kill a man over some missing marijuana. 43-year-old Jorge Arturo Rodriguez was arrested in February. He accused a man of stealing his marijuana and held a gun to the side of his head, telling him he would kill him and his family if he didn’t pay him $50,000. He forced the victim to give up his car keys and $4,000 he had on him. He then told the man that if he contacted law enforcement or if he did not return by the end of the weekend with $50,000, he and his family would be killed. Convicted of assault with a semi-auto firearm and kidnapping, Rodriguez has been sentenced to 10 years 8 months in state prison.
