Trinity County Sheriff Stepping Down Due To Health Issues

Trinity County Sheriff Bruce Haney has announced that he’s leaving office early, due to health issues. According to the Trinity Journal, Haney’s last day will be October 31st. Haney said his decision was made on the advice of his doctor, who said he needed to completely separate from the job. The winner of the November 6th vote for sheriff will take office in January. The board of supervisors will decide whether to appoint an interim sheriff or possibly ask the new sheriff to start work early.
