Washington Woman Killed In Crash On Highway 299

A young woman who died in a rollover crash in Eastern Shasta County Monday afternoon has been identified by the coroner’s office. There were three women and three children in a Nissan Armada traveling westbound on Highway 299 between Fall River Mills and Burney. West of Pit Number One Power House Road, the driver, 21-year-old Elida Tooley, allowed the big SUV to drift off the pavement and it rolled over several times. Tooley and one of the juveniles suffered major injuries and were taken by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Three other passengers were treated at Mayers Hospital. 20-year-old Erica Adrienne Tooley was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected as the vehicle rolled. She suffered fatal injuries. She was initially reported as being from Fall River Mills, but the coroner’s office says she was from Wenatchee, Washington. Her family has been notified of her passing.
