Man Arrested For Brandishing Knife While Trespassing

A bamboo thief has been arrested. Thursday night at 8:21PM, Redding Police responded to the 1400 hundred block of Riverside Drive. Two men, Greg Reimann and Paul Young told officers that they’d confronted a man who was trespassing and cutting bamboo in the yard. When confronted, the suspect reportedly started arguing and brandished a knife, threatening to stab the men. Officers searched the downtown area and located 28-year-old William Bailey. He was identified by Young and Reimann as the suspect. Bailey was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for brandishing a knife, assault with a deadly weapon, and making criminal threats.
