A commercial building in Downtown Redding was destroyed by fire Friday morning. The large old 3-story wood-framed stucko building is at 1005 Yuba Street between Continental and East Streets. Redding Fire Chief Collen Kreider tells us shortly after the firefight began at 4:15AM, some walls started leaning and they had to continue the fight from the exterior. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Chief Kreider says some homeless people were squatting in the building, and some of them were removed by Redding Police.
