Deputies Seize Marijuana, Guns, And Cash In Trinity County

An alleged marijuana dealer has been arrested in Trinity County. The Sheriff’s Department served two search warrants in Weaverville Monday, one at a commercial building and one at a residence. At the commercial building, authorities found 500 pounds of processed marijuana, more than 8 pounds of processed cannabis and more than $25,000 in cash. The renter was identified as 44-year-old Christopher Carson, originally from Ohio. The second warrant was served at Carson’s home. There, deputies found another 3 pounds of processed marijuana, $6,000 in cash and 10 firearms; 2 of the rifles had illegal high-capacity magazines and one had a barrel that was too short to be legal. At both locations, there was evidence of cannabis sales.Carson is not in the Trinity County cannabis permitting system. He was arrested on conspiracy and drug and firearms charges.
