Local Nurses End Strike At Care Facility

A two day strike by nurses at the River Valley Nursing Home in Redding has ended. Nurses with the SEIU 2015 allege that care at the facility, also known as Windsor Care Center, has experienced a dramatic shift in quality of care since new ownership took over. They say that over a dozen charges have been filed against the employer because of illegal conduct and worker conditions. Staff turnover at River Valley has jumped to 61 percent since 2015.
