A number of charges have been dropped against a Trinity County teacher arrested last year for child molestation. 60-year-old David Frederick was taken into custody by Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies in October of last year. He had been working as a teacher at the Coffee Creek Elementary School. Frederick was implicated after several of his recent alleged molestation victims in Coffee Creek came forward to tell their stories. That launched an investigation that spanned several California counties and several other states where Frederick has worked during his 20-plus year career teaching elementary school kids. Many of his former students elsewhere were contacted and interviewed before enough probable cause was established for his arrest. During questioning, Frederick allegedly admitted that he’s had a number of inappropriate sexual relationships with his students over the years. Despite that, most of the charges had to be dropped because of a lack of evidence after contact was lost with some of the alleged victims. Frederick still faces charges involving one victim, and he remains behind bars on a Quarter Million Dollars bail. He’ll be back in court December 28th.
