Diners at Logan’s Roadhouse on Hilltop Drive had to leave early Monday night after a fire broke out in the attic area forcing the restaurant to close for the evening. A Redding Fire Department Chief, Eric McMurtry says although customers were evacuated the dining area itself, including the peanuts were spared. It took about 25 minutes to contain the fire which broke out just after 5PM. It’s unclear when the restaurant will reopen. A portion of Hilltop Drive was closed for about two hours. The cause is still under investigation. McMurtry estimated the total loss at $65,000, factoring in fire and water damage, lost business and damaged food.
