An early morning fire in East Redding caused a lot of damage to a garage. At 4:42AM Thursday, Redding Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire that had spread to a garage at 2991 Sinaloa Trail off Heritagetown Drive, south of Hartnell Avenue. Thanks to a fire sprinkler system and aggressive firefighting efforts, the blaze was under control about 10 minutes after engines arrived. The main part of the house was saved, with little damage, but the Dollar estimate for the garage, contents and vehicle was $45,000. Five engines were at the scene, as well as 15 personnel. There were no injuries to the 4 occupants of the house.
