Suspected Overdose at Casino

A likely drug overdose was reported at Gold Country Casino Monday. At 11:28 AM, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a possible drug overdose at the Oroville casino. Deputies, Cal Fire and Butte EMS responded to find a woman, two men and a 5-month old child. The 3 adults were showing signs of an overdose. They were given Narcan and taken to a hospital. The baby was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and was reported in stable condition. Authorities are trying to determine what drug was involved, but they suspect heroin, with possibly another drug, such as fentanyl. The Sheriff’s Office and Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force are investigating whether there’s a connection between this incident and the recent one in Chico, which resulted in the death of Aris Turner and the sickening of 14 others.
