Addicted Offenders Graduate

Six former addicted offenders have completed their rehabilitation. This Friday, a ceremony will be held to recognize people who’ve successfully turned their lives around by going through an intensive rehabilitation program, which typically takes 21 months. Shasta County’s Addicted Offender Program is for non-violent offenders who plead guilty to drug-related crimes and volunteer to undergo a comprehensive drug treatment program under the direction of the Superior Court. Participants receive counseling and make regular appearances before a judge and are subject to random drug testing. The graduation ceremony will take place in the jury assembly room at the courthouse Friday morning at 10. Judge Cara Beatty will officiate.
