Meeting Planned on South City Park

The future of Redding’s most endangered park will be discussed a public meeting on Wednesday. Most of South City Park is currently fenced and off limits unless a reservation is made. The park had become a popular place for Tedding’s growing homeless population, a small minority of whom had caused enough criminal activity to make many families fearful of bringing their children to the once-popular relaxation spot. Members of the public are urged to bring their ideas on solutions to reinvigorate the park to a meeting in the Community Room of City Hall Wednesday afternoon at 5:30. Redding Community Services Director Kim Niemer will be a guest on KQMS at 7:30 Tuesday morning to discuss some options for the park.
