Although construction is still a few months away, preliminary work is underway for an I-5 widening project. Cal-Trans, J.J. Shea and other contractors are currently clearing the right of way for the six-lane expansion of the freeway between Anderson and Redding. The project includes the replacement of several bridges, in addition to pavement and other improvements. Cal-Trans is asking drivers to slow down and be aware of the presence of workers along this stretch of highway. The three year project is being funded by SB1. There are no impacts to traffic at this point and for the next several months.
