Nights should be a bit more quiet from now on in a neighborhood in the Silver Street area of Anderson. For several weeks, multiple 911 calls have been made by residents of the area reporting loud noises, sometimes reported as shots fired, sometimes reported as explosions, and sometimes as fireworks, which apparently is what is was. It happened again Thursday night at around 10 O’clock when at least ten 911 calls were made reporting loud booms. An APD Officer arrived on Silver Street in time to witness the ignition of a mortar-style firework. 34-year-old Deven Burke was released after receiving a citation for possession and discharge of unsafe fireworks. 42-year-old Dawn Leyva got the same citation, but she was also arrested for resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
