The identity of the man shot and killed in Happy Valley on Wednesday has been released. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office ID’d the victim as 41-year-old Adam Russell Mancebo. An autopsy is scheduled for early next week. The suspect, Michael Patrick O’Connell was arraigned Friday at 1:30OP. O’Connell reportedly admitted that he had shot his friend with a 12 gauge shotgun. The sheriff’s office says Mancebo was O’Connell’s roommate and the two had been arguing prior to the killing. The major crimes unit is asking anyone who has information about this homicide to contact the major crimes unit at 245-6135.
