Redding Police have been pulling up cold murder cases and publicizing them in hopes that new leads will develop. 67-year-old Edwin “Eddie” Phillips was murdered 2-and-a-half years ago. At about 11:15PM the night of August 17th, 2016, 9-1-1 callers reported shots fired at 3032 Bechelli Lane, the home of Pluto’s Car Stereos and Don’s Sandwich Shop. Officers arrived 15 minutes later and found 67-year-old Edwin Phillips suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. In surveillance footage Phillips can be seen entering the business with an unknown man and then leaving a short time later. The suspect is tall and stocky and he was wearing baggy long shorts and possibly a tank top. A reward of $10,000 is available for anonymous tips at scsecretwitness.com or 243-2319.
