Storm Knocks Out Power To Hundreds In Shasta County

Strong winds have brought another round of power outages to Shasta County. A transformer blowout off Knighton Road Tuesday night knocked out electricity to around 1700 REU customers in the Churn Creek Bottom area of South Redding, but they’ve been restored. REU tells us Wednesday morning that 35 homes are without power in the Ranchette Area. PG&E outages currently include more than 100 in Anderson, 200 in the Cottonwood Area, 100 in Lakehead, 640 in the Manton Area and about 540 in the Redding Area, as well as other isolated areas. An outage map is at pge.com.
