Storm Washes Out Road In Whiskeytown Recreation Area

Access has been further restricted at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Whiskey Creek Road has washed out near the intersection with Pioneer Road. That location is north of the Whiskey Creek Boat Ramp, but the decision has been made to close Whiskey Creek Road at Highway 299, cutting access to the launch, as well as many lakeside locations accessible by trails from the road. The notice by the Shasta County Department of Public Works says there’s no time estimate for reopening.
