Man Who Attacked Girlfriend Arrested

Redding Police say a man became uncontrollably violent with them after attacking his girlfriend. At 5:55 Saturday morning a 37-year-old woman called 9-1-1 from a neighbor’s phone to say that her boyfriend, 38-year-old Brant Brady, woke up that morning acting irrationally and assaulted her, causing visible injuries. She tried to call for police on her cell phone, but Brady reportedly took it from her and broke it. She says he kept calling her “devil” and physically restrained her for several minutes before she was able to break his grasp and run from the apartment to seek help. When R-P-D officers confronted Brady outside the apartment, they say he refused to submit to them and struggled by grabbing and kicking. He was hit with a Taser and struck with a baton until officers got him into handcuffs, but he still would not cooperate so he was placed in leg constraints too. After being treated at a hospital Brady was booked into jail for several felonies, including domestic battery, false imprisonment and battery on a police officer. One of the officers also needed medical treatment from the fight.
