A child molester with prior convictions has been found guilty by a Shasta County jury. Last spring, Shasta County Sheriff’s detectives and district attorney investigators spent several weeks looking for 41-year-old Melvin Love before he was captured in the Bella Vista area April 4th. The former resident of the City of Anderson was already a registered sex offender, and was arrested on 5 felony counts of child molestation involving children under the age of 14, as well as enhancements for substantial sexual conduct. Love was convicted on Friday. He faces a possible sentence of four consecutive life terms in prison.
Also on Friday, Jessica Falin pleaded guilty to eight counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14. She’ll be sentenced next month to 22 years in state prison.
