APD Officer Shares Story After Being Shot Twice

A police organization has used a case involving an Anderson Police Officer to stress the importance of body armor for officers. On March 26th of last year, Officer Tyler Finch was attempting to arrest a car theft suspect when he was shot twice in the chest. He was saved by his Kevlar vest, which absorbed the impact of the slugs. Officer Finch received a Medal of Valor for the ordeal. He recently told his story to the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Florida. The IACP has produced a video about the incident, which can be seen on the KQMS Facebook page.
