A man was drunk and chatting on social media when he crashed his car and brought down power lines in East Redding Thursday night, according to police. At 11:25PM, the RPD was called to Rancho Road at Old Oregon Trail near the Stillwater Industrial Park. 21-year-old Justin Knapp was apparently snapchatting with his girlfriend when his Nissan Murano left the road and knocked down multiple power poles, bringing hot wires onto the ground and draped over the top of the car. It also started a small fire that was quickly extinguished. Knapp and a dog were both rescued from the crushed Nissan. He reportedly admitted to being intoxicated and after he was cleared at a hospital, he was booked into jail.
