Man Will Stand Trial For Allegedly Murdering His Wife

A Happy Valley man accused of murdering his wife had a court appearance Thursday and has been ordered to stand trial. On November 6th of last year Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the home of 63-year-old Kenneth Karl Vorreiter Jr on Pine Street in the Olinda area. A friend of his had reported to authorities that Vorreiter might be suicidal after he told him on the phone that he had assaulted his wife earlier in the day and she may be dead. When deputies arrived at the home they contacted Vorreiter and found his wife, Lori Lee Vorreiter, deceased. The man was interviewed by detectives and then booked into jail for murder. A preliminary examination has been completed and Vorreiter will be tried for murder, domestic violence and possession of Methamphetamine for sale. He’ll be arraigned again and trial dates will be set on the 26th.
