Driver Suffers Major Injuries In Alleged Head-On DUI Crash

A Red Bluff man was badly hurt in a head-on crash Saturday night. Shortly before Midnight 51-year-old Pablo Rivera-Orellana was southbound on Highway 99W south of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center when his Toyota Corolla crossed over the center line into the path of a northbound Dodge Ram pickup driven by 40-year-old Jessica Bachman. She had a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy with her who had been attending their high school prom earlier in the evening. The girl suffered pain to her knee, back, neck and head. The boy had minor injuries. Bachman had minor abrasions. Rivera-Orellana took the worst of it, suffering major injuries including head trauma and internal injuries. Everyone was wearing a seatbelt. Rivera-Orellana was arrested for driving without a license and DUI causing injury.
