Releases From Keswick Dam Will Decrease By Mid-Week

Sacramento River levels will be going down this week, providing relief in some low lying areas. Water releases from Keswick Dam, which were at 40,000 cubic feet per second since last Tuesday, will be reduced dramatically by Wednesday to 20,950 CFS. This is good news for users of Anderson River Park, which has been partially flooded due to the increased releases and recent heavy rains. The water level at Shasta Dam has dropped about 3 feet in the last five days, currently about sixteen and a half feet from the crest. Downstream, Colusa Bridge in Glenn County should be below the “Action” stage by Wednesday night. All other monitoring points along the river are well below levels that are a concern.
