Drivers heading west on Highway 299 can expect some delays. Work is underway on a pavement preservation project between Trinity Alley in Old Shasta and just west of Crystal Creek Road, near French Gulch. There are 15 to 20 minute delays at various locations in this area weekdays between 7AM and 6PM. Initial operations include pavement dig-outs and drainage work. Which should take a few weeks. Paving operations are anticipated for early July.Work also includes new signage and guardrail in the area. The project is being funded by Senate Bill 1.
