Redding Police say a drunk teenager fought with them after he crashed into multiple cars in an East Redding neighborhood and then tried to get away. Shortly before 3 O’clock Friday morning a hit-and-run was reported in the area of Victor Avenue and Galaxy Way. While officers were on the way more reports came in of the driver hitting parked cars. Officers arrived and tried to stop the car but still more parked cars were struck before the suspect vehicle crashed into a fence at Victor and Galaxy. Officers tried to arrest the driver but he still didn’t give up, leading them on a foot chase and then continuing to struggle as he was taken into custody. Police say he’s 19-year-old Riley Sheamus Whalen. At least 8 parked cars were damaged by his wild ride. He was booked into jail on several felony charges.
