Horse Killed In Accident At Red Bluff Roundup

There was an equine casualty at the Red Bluff Roundup over the weekend. During the wild horse race on Saturday a 7-year-old mare from Marysville died. The horse, named “474 Swan Song”, apparently took a tumble after stepping on her lead rope and suffered a fatal spinal cord injury. She was owned by the Flying U Rodeo Company. In brighter news from the roundup, Cottonwood native Nellie Miller took home the gold buckle for barrel racing. She rode “Sister”, the same horse that carried her to a world championship in 2017
