Someone on foot was killed by a train early Monday morning in South Redding. At 2:19AM Redding Police were called to the area of Breslauer Lane and Highway 273, where they found the train blocking the Breslauer crossing. A man in his 60s was found underneath the train. Union Pacific staff said he had been standing on the tracks when the south bound train came along, traveling from Dunsmuir to Roseville. The Shasta County Coroners Office has determined the identity of the victim, but his name has not been released.
