RPD: Man Who Was Harassing Area Women Arrested For 5th Time In 2019

A 39-year-old man from Yreka who has apparently been pestering women around Redding was taken into custody Saturday morning. Redding Police got a report of a man lying down beside a city pump station off of Overhill Drive near a Sacramento River Trail Access Point. When Officers arrived they recognized him as Guy David Graham, the subject of more than 20 calls for service in the past couple of months, and 4 previous arrests so far this year. There have been reports of Graham harassing women as they arrive at and leave their places of work around town. There have also been many recent reports of Graham bothering people on the river trail. When he was found Saturday morning he was surrounded by containers of spoiled food, empty alcohol bottles, and other trash scattered for about 30 yards around him. He reportedly acknowledged that all the garbage was his. As officers kept talking to him, they say graham became increasingly angry and threatened to beat the officers and make them “cease to exist”. Finally, he allegedly lunged at an officer and tried to kick another. He was forced to the ground and pepper spray was used on him as he was taken into custody after a long struggle. He was booked into jail for resisting or delaying officers and attempting to assault them. He also had two warrants from Siskiyou County.
