Paradise Accepts 270 Million Dollars From PG&E Settlement

The Town of Paradise has announced that it will accept the terms of a mediator’s proposal for a payment from PG&E. The 270 Million Dollar offer is in response to the town’s Camp Fire claims. It’s part of the utility’s pending chapter 11 bankruptcy case, which sets aside 1 Billion Dollars to reimburse local governments for losses. The mediation proceedings involved 14 agencies with claims against PG&E. The claims were for three different fires, 2015’s Butte Fire, the 2017 North Bay fires and 2018’s devastating Camp Fire. Paradise will use the money to rebuild infrastructure.
