Cal-Trans Expects Traffic Flow To Improve On I-5 North Of Redding

Traffic issues should be much improved on Interstate Five at Lake Shasta late Friday afternoon when Cal-Trans ends the traffic crossover at the Pit River Bridge, restricting each direction to one lane. The bottleneck has led to lengthy delays, compounded at times by collisions. The Pit River Project is expected to cause 20 minute delays again starting on Monday. Southbound traffic will be affected by the Shasta Viaduct Project starting Friday, with delays up to 30 minutes.
