Attendance Up Over 2% At Shasta District Fair

Nearly 70,000 people passed through the gates of this year’s Shasta District Fair last week. The total attendance over the four days was up 2.6% from last year. The Junior Livestock Auction brought in $1,500,811 with the average sale prices going $14.78 for Sheep, $11.25 for Swine and $5.94 for Steer. The public will have an opportunity to enjoy some of that meat at the annual 4-H/F.F.A. Barbecue at the fairgrounds prior to the Anderson Explodes fireworks show on July 3rd.
