Anderson Man Killed After Crashing Motorcycle

A young man was killed at 6:30PM Saturday evening when he crashed a motorcycle on the western outskirts of Redding. Identified for now as a 24-year-old man from Anderson, he was riding a 2019 Kawasaki southbound on Texas Springs Road south of Montgomery Ranch Road at 30 to 40 miles an hour when he lost control and laid the bike down. The man and the motorcycle then slid across the opposing lane and shoulder before colliding with a tree. The rider was not wearing a helmet and he suffered fatal injuries. His name is withheld until family is notified.
