3 Arrested After Early Morning High Speed Chase In Tehama County

Three men were arrested after a chase by Corning Police that ended with a spike strip deployment. Just after 2:00AM Monday morning, officers responded to a report of someone brandishing a gun in the area of South and First Streets. They tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description but the driver refused to stop and a pursuit began. It continued through Corning and then north on Highway 99-W. A spike strip was eventually deployed near Red Bluff. The three men fled on foot, but all were apprehended and taken into custody. 29-year-old Jared Brun, 28-year-old Brian Garcia, and 44-year-old Santiago Tapia were all booked into Tehama County Jail. The driver, Garcia was charged with evading an officer, driving on a suspended license and an outstanding warrant. Red Bluff Police Department, the CHP, and the Tehama County Sheriff’s Department all assisted. Police have not said if a gun was found.
