Fireworks Displays Planned At Various Locations

Fireworks of any kind are illegal even to possess in Shasta County. There’s no need to take the risk. There are plenty of impressive fireworks displays in the area:

–Anderson Explodes festivities kick off at 4 O’clock Wednesday at the fairgrounds in Anderson. The 4H/FFA BBQ is just $10 for all you can eat with meat from the junior livestock auction. Concert by Mark Wills. Admission to the fairgrounds is free. Parking is $5. No pets, food or outside beverages. One water bottle per person allowed.

— Redding’s big 4th of July celebration Thursday, the Freedom Festival, is totally free, and centered at the Redding Civic Auditorium. Live music starts at 7PM with headliner California Country. No dogs, alcohol or smoking, including e-cigarettes. The Sundial Bridge will be closed during the fireworks and the Highway 44 off-ramps will be closed when the parking lots are full.

–Red Bluff will have a fireworks show Thursday at the River Park.

–Mount Shasta City’s “4th of July Celebration, Artisan Market and Street Faire” has activities that begin Wednesday and fireworks over Lake Siskiyou on Thursday.

–Weaverville has a street dance, concerts and other events Wednesday through Sunday at Lowden Park and a fireworks spectacular Friday night at Weaverville Elementary School.

–Burney Basin Days kicks off Thursday with a parade Saturday and fireworks Saturday night at the Burney High football field.
